Does anyone’s soul find it hard to stay at rest when life is uncertain? From one side of the globe to the other, in our current situation with the COVID-19 virus, none of us know exactly what will happen next, but the Lord says it is possible to rest while we wait.
In Psalm 62:5, it says, “Find rest oh my soul in God alone.”
The word “rest” in this verse is to be silent, be still or wait. It is the idea that we are so sure of who holds our future that we stop striving to figure out how it will all unfold, and instead choose to wait and trust the One it’s all for.
When we are reliant on our own ways and our own strength to make sense of it all we live in inner chaos and stress, we know we can’t do it. But when we surrender and admit our lack, God’s peace rushes in to assure us. Even though we can’t see how, we can continue to trust our God, who is still on the throne.
Let’s choose to surrender to Him, even if we have to choose it over and over again, moment by moment. Peace is too expensive to lose over something God already has all worked out. We’ve just yet to see it.
In this time of our world feeling anxious and life drastically changing in such a short time, we as writers who have been entrusted with a gift of crafting words have a powerful tool to bring the peace, hope and love of Christ. As you continue to trust Jesus, lead others to trust Him as well.
We at COMPEL and Proverbs 31 Ministries are praying for you, your families, and that the peace that passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
We would love to pray for you if you leave your prayer request in the comments. We would also appreciate you sharing your own prayer over our nation, reminding us all of who it is we are trusting in. We are in this together.

The Value of a Heart Set Right
April 5, 2022
I was recovering from an injury when covid hit. Long story short, I ran out of money but stayed housed because of the moratorium. The stimulus checks made it possible for me to pay my electric bill and Internet bill. I don’t have a car and I lost my phone because I could not pay the bill. I have food because I walk to a pantry once a week. The moratorium is over and on November 9, I lost an eviction case in court. I have no money and nowhere to go. I am very scared.

Ashley, Just joined today after a 4 month wait so catching up. Isn’t it amazing that no matter where we are in the world we are ALL experiencing the impact of COVID-19 at the same time. I’m in Adelaide, Australia. I was reading a similar theme today:
“For when you are utterly finished and exhaused in your struggling: when you have come to an end in all your striving; when you are ready to desert your intellectual pursuit and when you shall cast yourself upon Me, as a babe upon it’s mother’s breast; then shall you know surely that I have been constantly at your very side; that i have never deserted you. …. Cast aside your questionings. Fling aside your fears.. for in the moment that you relinquish all- in that same moment shall you know release” From a very old devotional – “Come Away My Beloved” (1970: Frances J Roberts”
“Peace is too expensive to lose over something God already has all worked out.” That is now quoted in my journal and will be a statement I return to many times! Thanks for pointing us back to the source of our rest and peace.
“You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3
Hi, my name is maureen. I would like to ask for prayer for myself and family. I live alone and am spinal cord injured. I’m lifting you up in prayer, Maureen. <3
Also lifting you up in prayer and hopeful that you will get the in home health care you need without risk to your health. As a physical therapist, it may be good to get some PT via telehealth for a few weeks until he/she can come back into your home safely.
Amen. Only in Christ is there perfect rest when times are hard. God, please use these times to draw people to you and to spark a revival in our nation and across the world. Help us to stay on mission during this time and to trust you, God. You are good all the time!
Lord, you are my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? Lord, you are the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1). You reveal deep and hidden things; You know what lies in darkness and light dwells within you (Daniel 2:22). I am so thankful to know that Jesus loves me, God is good, He is on His throne and this all ends well. I will put my trust in You, Father. Amen!
Yes, amen Tammy!
Beautiful Jesus, thank you “The Lord God will help me” (Is 50:7), in this shaky time and at all times. “I love you, Lord” (Ps 18:1), “By my God I can run upon a troop or scale a wall” (Ps 18:29). So I will “fear God and nothing else” (Elisabeth Elliott). May I represent You well, God, in the face of fear. In Jesus’ powerful name, Amen
Love that quote Amanda. Thank you and amen!
